About Goshen

Who are we?

Goshen is an Israeli nonprofit that was established in 2014 to create a holistic community healthcare environment in which the pediatrician works with healthcare professionals, the education system, social services and the family in a pioneering approach to 21st century child development.

It was established by Israel’s leading pediatricians and Australia’s internationally renowned Professor Frank Oberklaid.

The science about the importance of the early years of a child’s life is clear and uncontested. The years before a child begins school are critical in establishing sound foundations for development and the path for future health and wellbeing.

Economists assert that investing in childhood development is the best economic investment any country can make. It is the best way to address intergenerational poverty and increase the future prosperity of nations.

Goshen’s multifaceted work is comprised of three key pillars:

  • To bring systemic change to the field and scope of community pediatrics.
  • To provide online information access and evidence-based resources for parents in all sectors of Israeli society.
  • To advance public policy to change the landscape and delivery of childhood care.
