Postdoctoral Researcher – Child Health & Development

The Faculty of Medicine at Bar-Ilan University, in partnership with the Goshen Centre for Child Health and Development, invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to join a collaboration supervised by Professor Mary Rudolf and Dr Jasmin Kroll. This position offers the opportunity to be mentored within a multidisciplinary team addressing some of the most pressing challenges in child and adolescent mental health. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about advancing the mental well-being of children and youth through rigorous research with tangible, real-world impact. The position emphasizes both academic excellence and translational relevance, aiming to inform practice and policy in pediatric mental health.

Research themes include:

Early child development, trauma and resilience, child maltreatment and the emotional impact of war and conflict.

Key Responsibilities:

The postdoctoral researcher will:

  • Lead and support impactful research projects
  • Work with clinicians, academics, and public health stakeholders
  • Conduct data analysis (quantitative and/or qualitative)
  • Publish in peer-reviewed journals
  • Help develop reports, presentations, and policy briefs
  • Strengthen paediatric mental health systems in Israel
  • Direct an innovative project in your area of interest

Essential qualifications:

  • PhD in Psychology, Public Health, Social Sciences or related field
  • Strong statistical skills (SPSS, R)
  • At least 2 peer-reviewed publications
  • Hebrew and English fluency
  • Strong analytical, organisational and teamwork skills

Desirable:

Familiarity with Israeli health systems
Experience with large datasets, epidemiology, or child mental health
Arabic an advantage
